1. Introduction
Welcome to Poole & Bournemouth Pickleball Club. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website (https://pbpickleball.co.uk/) and your participation in our sessions, coaching, and events. By booking a session, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Bookings & Communications
- Booking Platform: All sessions must be booked in advance via the Spond app.
- Communication: For all cancellations, credit requests, or booking adjustments, you must contact the organiser via a private message on the Spond app.
3. Cancellation, Refund & Credit Policy
A. Cancellations with MORE than 24 Hours’ Notice If you have signed up and need to cancel more than 24 hours before the session start time:
- You are eligible for a full refund or credit.
- Action Required: You must inform us via a private message on the Spond app to trigger this process.
B. Cancellations with LESS than 24 Hours’ Notice If you need to cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice:
- You will not automatically receive a refund or credit.
- Credit Eligibility: You will only receive a CREDIT if someone from the waiting list takes your spot.
- Waitlist Mechanic: You must message us via the Spond app immediately so we can attempt to fill your spot from the waiting list.
- Condition: You will only receive the credit if the replacement player pays for the spot. If the spot remains unfilled or is taken by an unpaid player, no credit will be issued.
C. Using Your Credit
- Expiry: Credits must be used within FOUR WEEKS from the date the credit was given.
- How to Activate: To use your credit, do not book directly. Instead, you must message the organiser via Spond with the specific session date you would like to attend (must be within the next month). We will then manually reserve your spot for that session.
4. Health & Safety
- Assumption of Risk: Pickleball is an active sport. By participating, you acknowledge the inherent risks (including slips, trips, falls, and ball impact) and agree to play at your own risk.
- Fitness to Play: You are responsible for ensuring you are physically fit to participate. If you have any medical concerns, please consult a doctor before playing.
- Juniors: Junior coaching is available for ages 10+. All players under 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian.
5. Code of Conduct
We are a friendly, inclusive community. We expect all members to:
- Respect all players, opponents, and coaches.
- Engage in fair play and good sportsmanship.
- Refrain from aggressive or abusive behaviour.
- Follow venue rules, including wearing appropriate non-marking court shoes.
6. Photography
We frequently use photos and videos from sessions for club promotion (social media, website). If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform the session organiser or coach before play begins.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Poole & Bournemouth Pickleball Club is not liable for any injuries sustained during play (unless caused by our proven negligence) or for the loss of personal property at our venues.
